My Background and Inspiration
My story begins with a deep-rooted belief in the power of education. Growing up, I saw how transformational learning opportunities could redefine futures. This belief was solidified during my own incredible study-abroad experience in China. Immersing myself in a completely new culture fundamentally changed the way I saw the world. It also left me with a heavy responsibility—to help others access similar opportunities. That experience became the catalyst for everything I do today.
Creating Opportunities Through Nonprofit Work
I believe education should know no boundaries. This belief led me to establish Expanding Boundaries International (EBI) in 2014. EBI focuses on providing equitable access to cutting-edge educational experiences in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and fostering global cultural exchanges.
Through programs like the Brenda A.A. Brown Passport Scholarship, STEAM learning initiatives, and Cultural Exploration Tours, we’ve helped countless students—from Baltimore, Maryland to Ghana—experience the world in ways they once thought impossible. These children and young adults aren’t just learning; they’re becoming problem-solvers, innovators, and global citizens.
